現代美術として主に絵を描いています。
私は余白に魅力を抱き注意を向けることが多く、今までに絵の裏や木枠の空間についてアプローチした絵を作ってきました。
余白を大きく残す中でできる、線と色彩、具象と抽象の距離感などの関係についてを描いています。
モチーフに選ぶ題材は日頃の景色から絵に置き換えられるほどに関心が高いものや、直感的に筆が動くものです。
絵の中には「これは一体なんなのか」と描かれたモチーフのよくわからないものもありますが、それは抽象化されすぎた図の一部か、意図された “よくわからないもの” の混入です。それはそこにあることが必然であるかのように振る舞い、視覚的に心地よい画面になるための一助になっています。
私は整理整頓が好きで、よく唐突にお片付けをしたりします。
片付けて綺麗になれば清々しいですが、その整理整頓の趣味をまたすぐ楽しむことはできなくなります。
そこで海から石や木、漂着物を拾ってきたり、収集物のフィギュアやよくわからないものを広げて放置します。そうすればまたいつでも整理整頓ができます。趣味を行うためのストックになるので、私にとってカオスな状態は “冷蔵庫に好物が備蓄されている” ような環境なので、ある種それも自分にとっては心地よい状態になっています。
私の作る絵画は〝視覚的に心地よいもの〟〝自分と自分意外との中継装置であること〟を目指しています。

I mainly paint contemporary art.
I am fascinated by and often draw attention to blank spaces, and have created paintings that approach the space behind the painting or the space of the wooden frame.
I paint the relationships between lines and colors, and the sense of distance between the concrete and the abstract, which are possible while leaving a large amount of blank space. The subjects I choose as motifs are those that interest me so much that I can replace everyday scenery with paintings, or those that I intuitively move my brush around.
Some of the motifs in my paintings make me wonder, "What on earth is this?", but they are either part of an overly abstracted figure, or an intentional inclusion of something "unknown." They act as if they were meant to be there, and help to create a visually pleasing picture.
I like to organize and tidy up, and I often tidy up suddenly.
It's refreshing to tidy up and clean up, but I can't enjoy the hobby of tidying up again anytime soon.
So I pick up stones, wood, and driftwood from the sea, or spread out figures and things I don't understand from my collection and leave them there. Then I can organize and tidy up again whenever I want. Since it becomes a stockpile for my hobbies, a chaotic state for me is like having my favorite foods stocked in the fridge, so in a way it's a comfortable state for me.
I aim for the paintings I create to be "visually pleasing" and "to act as a relay between myself and others."
